Besan Ki Koki


 






Ingredients
  • Besan(Gram flour) - 100grms
  • Wheat flour - 100grms.
  • Onion finally chopped - 1 medium size.
  • Green Chili finally chopped - 1tsp
  • Green Dhania (coriander leaves finally chopped - 2tbsps.
  • Anar Dana (pomegranate seeds) - 1tsp.
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chili powder - 1/2 tsp.
  • Pudina (Mint) leaves finally chopped - 2tbsps(Optional)
  • Cooking oil - 4-5 tbsps.
  • water
Method
Place all ingredients except water in big bowl or a thal and mix them properly. Add the water slowly and knee to a stiff dough; place it a side for few minutes. Distribute the dough into 3-4 parts and make the balls. Heat the tawa, rollout each ball in the diameter of 4" and place on the tawa. when it is cooked from both sides remove from tawa and roll out further to the extent of 8" diameter and place on the tawa and cook from both sides. Shallow fry it till it is golden brown and crisp.
Serve hot with curd or tea.

  1. Hi Radha, Thanks for the recipe. I remember my mom used to make these for thadadi (festival when you are supposed to eat food cooked last day because we cannot cook any food). Is this the same koki recipe?

  2. Yes we all lov those mouth watering foods on the Thatdiri occasion like Basin ji Koki, mithi mani (sweet bread) and lots of other chat pata foods by our Hindu friends
