Ingredients
- Fish - 500grms
- Onion chopped finally - 350grms
- Tomato Chopped finally - 6tbsps
- Garlic Paste 1tsp
- Ginger Paste 1tsp
- Green Chili finally chopped - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Haldi (Turmeric) Powder -1 tsp
- Red Chili Powder 1 tsp
- Dhania(Coriander )Powder - 3 tbsp
Wash the fish properly sprinkle salt over the pieces of fish and keep aside for 1&1/2 hour. Wash salted fish with small water. Heat the oil and deep fry the pieces of fish for few seconds or till it is bit stiff. Mix Huldi powder 1/2tsp, Red chili powder 1/2 tsp, Dhania Powder 2tsps, Chatmasala 1 tsp in a small bowl coat fried fish pieces with this mixture and keep aside.
Heat two tablespoons of cooking oil in broad vessel with heavy/thick bottom, add chopped onion cook for few minutes or till it becomes translucent add salt, huldi 1/2, red chili powder 1/3 tsp., Dhania Powder 1tsp, 4 tbsps of chopped tomato, green chili and mix them properly, cook for for few minutes on sim gas. Add half cup of the water and mix properly. Place all pieces of fish on the top of onion masala as a layer. Mix ginger and garlic paste and sprinkle the mixture evenly on the top of fish pieces, similarly sprinkle chopped tomato and finally chopped fresh dhania leaves . Cover the vessel with its lid and cook for ten minutes on sim gas. Before removing from the gas check that onion masala is not very dry its consistency should be mysterious. If it is very dry add some water from the edges of the vessel and cover it tightly and let it stand on gas stove for few minutes. Serve hot with chapattis/rice.
