Tomato Chatni


Ingredients
  • Tomato bright red - 1kg.
  • Sugar - 150grms
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Onion finally chopped - 1medium size.
  • Ginger paste - 1tsp
  • Garlic paste - 1tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cooking oil - 3tbsps.
Method
Wash tomato with running water properly, chop into big pieces, put them in pressure cooker and close the lid. Put cooker on the gas. When pressure is formed sim the gas and cook for 5-7 minutes. remove from the gas and keep a side. When pressure is released open the lid of cooker and grind the tomato pieced to a smooth paste with the help of hand blander or Mixture add the sugar and keep aside.
Heat the oil in a pan add onion stir till it is translucent, add garlic and ginger paste stir till it is golden brown. Add 1/2 tbsp of garam masala, salt and stir for few seconds, add mixture of tomato and sugar stir time by time till it is thick to the required consistency. when required consistency achieved remove from the gas and add left out 1/2 tbsp of garam masala and stir it to mix properly add 1/2 tsp of Acetic Acid for preservation. When it is cool store in airtight glass jar. It can be retained for 15 days. It can last more if kept in refrigerator.
It can be used as spread for bread.
