Gujiya



Ingredients

For Gujiya shells
  • 1 cup Maida
  • 3tbsp cooking oil/ghee
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4cup+1tbsp warm water
For Stuffing
  • 100gms Khoya
  • 3 tbs coconut powder
  • 3tbsp dry fruits (almonds chirounji coursely grinded or finally chopped) and raisins
  • 50gms sugar powder
  • 1/2 tsp cordmum powder
Method
  1. Take maida in a broad bowl add oil, mix it properly add water slowly and knead it to make it a soft dough cover with a soft cloth & keep aside
  2. Grate/mash khoya
  3. Heat nonstick vessel add the khoya stir for few seconds &
  4. When starts melting add dry coconut powder and stir till it becomes light brown off the gas
  5. After few minutes when it is warm add dry fruits and sugar  & mix it Properly.
  6. Keep a side till it cools down
  7. Divide the dough into 10 small balls similarly divide filling mixture into same number as of the balls of dough
  8. Take one ball roll out a circle of 4 inch diameter put one portion of filling mixture in center &fold to make half circle joining edges of half circle and press it to seal (for this we can use the gujiya mold, easily available in the market)or can seal firmly with fork.
  9. Repeat number 8 for all gujiyas.
  10. Heat oil in karai for deep frying add 3-4 gujiyas at a time, fry on medium flame till they become golden brown then take out and put on paper towel to absorb extra oil.
  11. When all Gujiyas are cool store in a air tight container
